JavaScript Freelancer for a short WFH gamedev project

Chris McCormick , Anywhere · mccormickit.com · Freelance or consulting · Programming

Hello,

I'm an independent software developer from Australia with my own small business called McCormick IT.

Last year I made a game called Asterogue as a side project. You can see the game here:

PC: https://chr15m.itch.io/asterogue

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cx.mccormick.asterogue

The game is written in JavaScript and ported to Desktop and Android using Electron and Cordova. The codebase is a single 2000 line JavaScript file which only uses one library. Development is done completely in the browser. It's not pretty but it does the job.

I am looking for somebody to work on fixes and improvements to the game. There are about 10 issues in the GitHub tracker for you to work on and they are well defined and specified. This is not a full-time job but a one-off for some limited number of hours, maybe a week or two of work. Once you have seen the issues you can give me a rough estimate of time.

You should apply if you are a JavaScript developer with browser based development experience, and you don't mind working on a single-file codebase without tooling (e.g. no precompilation, nodejs etc.). You should have a reasonable understanding and experience with CSS. Any experience with game development is a bonus but not essential.

Please do let me know your hourly/daily rate when you apply.
